Welcome to the Chimera Collaboration

figure_wiki.jpg

Our group is dedicated to the study of core collapse supernova explosions. CHIMERA is our multi-dimensional numerical code, capable of tracking the evolution of these systems from the pre-collapse stellar stage to up to a second of evolution time after the core bounce. Details of the code can be found in our papers Bruenn et al., 2009 and Bruenn et al. 2010.

Gravitational Waves from Core-Collapse Supernovae

Below we present GWs from our most recent simulations. We invite you to check out the repository at StellarCollapse.org for GW generated by other groups.

Non-rotating progenitors

We present the gravitational wave signatures for a suite of core-collapse supernovae models. These models correspond to progenitors with masses in the range between 12 and 25 solar mass and are axisymmetric. More details of these simulations can be found in our paper Yakunin et al., 2010.
